Workshops 2023

WORKSHOP
Laura Jial
28 April 2023 | 17:30H | Centro Cultural
We will work with a fusion of contemporary and modern dance.
We will also use urban and commercial dance vocabulary.
The aim is to bring students closer to dance through different styles, techniques and movement dynamics, and finally to prepare and present a choreography combining everything they have learned.

WORKSHOP INVERTEBRATE MOVEMENT
Adrián Herrera
29 April 2023 | 10:00H | Centro Cultural
Warm-up: To prepare and awaken the body to its fullest availability, we work on joint mobility, flexibility and sensory activation, creating an energetic, present and intuitive state.
Being: Stage work based on theatrical tools, sensations and bodily exploration through sensory memory and family constellations. We aim to create an atmosphere that holds attention beyond physical movement, showing audiences not only what is happening but also what is happening to us at that very moment.
Technique: Exploring muscular tissues and the body’s possibilities, involving the subconscious in the intensity of movement and awareness of muscular tension and release, to create fast, fluid, invertebrate movements and push joint opening to its limits. Through dance, we transfer the biomechanics and ergonomics of invertebrate species to the human body. We place the centre at different heights relative to the floor, seeking the practice of “non-effort” for greater comfort and projection in acrobatic movement from varied supports and positions.

WORKSHOP LO CONTEMPORÁNEO DEL FLAMENCO
Álvaro Murillo
30 April 2023 | 10:00H | Centro Cultural
In this workshop, we will share a dialogue between contemporary movement and flamenco dance. We explore organic movement through flamenco rhythm and emotion, and also travel in the opposite direction, from flamenco movements and concepts towards contemporary movement and composition. The aim is to reach a meeting point: a space for individual and collective creation and enjoyment.
Through creative technique and structured improvisation, we will develop our own compositions. Activities include movement dynamics, manipulations, choreography, solving movement problems, symbolism, observation, interaction, contact, creation and reflection.
No particular dance level is required. All activities will be adapted to each participant’s movement experience.
