About the work
A real event that took place on the night of 22 July 1928 inspired Lorca’s play “Bodas de Sangre”. A forbidden love in a society that keeps up appearances. An instinctive force driving an irrational union that, without intending to, defies social conventions. On her wedding day, a bride runs away with her lover. The groom follows them, and the story reaches its tragic conclusion.
Through movement, the body tells a story of doomed love. A danced account of the play, a flamenco version of the story.
